about

About this track:

"Meltdown" is a Song about someone who suffered a lot in the past and whose mind begins to compensate those experiences by producing symptoms of different mental disorders. After running though emotional and mental states of dissociation this person starts to physically hurt theirself, believing this might lead to answers and relief, eventually killing theirself in the process.

lyrics

Lyrics:

broken and expelled
pursued and compelled
shaken from the past
risen from the ash

Now

my time has come and I will prevail
I will ascend into a new lifeform
can't you see the revelation
in my eyes

[Ref.:]
about to revoke my wasted life
I'm breaking all limits, I will never die
nothing exceeds the nature of mine
voices inside, voices inside

Fuck
this overwhelming liberation
so many impressions to process
my senses are sharpened, sharp so sharp
my spirit is infinite, infinite so infinite

but something is wrong

there is a face in the mirror
it doesn't look like mine
it's watching me from the distance
there is no place to hide

and then all of a sudden
I don't know who I am
I feel like standing behind myself
looking at my back
I’m displaced
I am misplaced

like a ghost I run through long hallways
looking for a door
only finding walls of bricks and stones
is this how I die?
the skin of my lips is almost gone
the taste of blood just makes me feel like i am home

[Quote from Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Black Cat]
One night, returning home, much intoxicated, from one of my haunts about town,
I fancied that the cat avoided my presence.
I seized him; when, in his fright at my violence,
he inflicted a slight wound upon my hand with his teeth.
The fury of a demon instantly possessed me.
I knew myself no longer.
My original soul seemed, at once, to take its flight from my body;
and a more than fiendish malevolence, gin-nurtured, thrilled every fibre of my frame.
I took from my waistcoat-pocket a pen-knife, opened it,
grasped the poor beast by the throat, and deliberately cut one of its eyes from the socket!

I blush, I burn, I shudder!

just one cut from this knife and I am back
the voices are gone and the face in the mirror left
the hallways are my domain marked with blood
tears from my eyes, obey your new god

[Ref.:]
about to revoke my wasted life
I'm breaking all limits, I will never die
nothing exceeds the nature of mine
voices inside, voices inside

Now

my time has come and I will unveil
I’m cutting deeper for there lie answers
I can't see because i tried to
consume my eyes

I cut further cause I will never
die die die die die die die die die die die die
